🔥🌶️ WELCOME TO THE AI HOT TAKE HALL OF FAME 🔥🌶️
I hope that AI is used as a tool to boost creativity and not harm creatives in the form of AI art, deepfakes, etc. We need regulation and ethics as we are headed into a future of AI!
AI is a tool, not a replacement, and should be used in a way that aligns with the betterment and sustainability of humanity in mind.
I 100% believe AI needs to be regulated right now.
I hope that AI becomes a tool that empowers first-generation and underrepresented students to explore higher education with confidence, bridging the gap between talent and opportunity!
AI is the new calculator. People thought calculators will ruin the youth's intelligence, but it only opened new doors. The only twist is the BIAS. If females are not involved in the core development of AI, it will cause the future of STEM to be influenced AGAINST women.
I’m part of a generation that won’t let AI be built from a single point of view. We deserve a future where women and nonbinary creators lead the innovation that protects and inspires our world.
I personally feel like there is a growing decline in the amount of people learning art, opting to prompt a chatbot to make it for them. No, I don't think AI should be completely destroyed, but we shouldn't be allowing it to write or create "art" for us.
tbh, ai is fine, it’s in like most of the products of the world, but GENERATIVE AI is where i draw the line.
AI cannot become evil in a vacuum, it is because of the people that abuse it.
AI can't cure cancer, it can't replace the need for further biological understanding and human expertise. However, AI CAN enhance the research, it can process and analyze scientific data and identify PATTERNS that humans might miss.
Human connection is more important than ever, and we shouldn't let AI chatbots take that away from us.
AI should definitely be regulated. A council made up of diverse voices, faces, backgrounds, and ideas would be the best group to determine the rules and restrictions that should be put on AI development.
Curriculum about using AI appropriately should be integrated into schools!
Generative AI is incredibly dangerous is causing more harm to our society than good. I say this as a woman currently working in AI.
AI is advancing our world— but we need to emphasize regulation to ensure it doesn’t echo any historical inequalities or injustices.
Every new ‘AI assistant’ or ‘smart feature’ makes us depend on tech for things we’re totally capable of. To me this is less about empowerment and more about creating dependence.

Why AI,
Why Now
Our latest research with UCLA shows that most students see AI as powerful and transformative, but also recognize its risks. Yet today, 71% of the AI workforce is male—meaning women and nonbinary people remain underrepresented in shaping this technology. If we don’t act now, a new era of innovation will be built without the representation it needs to truly work for everyone.
At Girls Who Code, we believe AI can be a force for good, but only if it reflects the voices and values of all people. By centering ethics and community in our programs, we’re preparing young women and nonbinary youth to become thoughtful, responsible creators of tomorrow’s tech.
